HV Switch and Compliance Coordinator (HV Electrician) (m/w/n)
Full time

 

Purpose of the Position:

To take responsibility Working with ENcome team members to compliance with contracts and internal procedures and support to continuous and healthy growth of the entity, acting as the key High Voltage Switch Operating Authority and Compliance Coordinator.

Responsibilities: 

HV and LV Switching Management

  • Act as the High Voltage Operating main point of contact for the ENcome entity across Australia and work in accordance with HV safety procedures including supporting compliance with relevant WHS legislation
  • Manage and approval of the implementation of electrical safety procedures and operational HV switching across Australia
  • Provide guidance and support to operations team on operations and electrical maintenance across distribution and transmission voltages
  • Work with operations and wider ENAU team to ensure the safe operation of a variety of High Voltage Electrical Apparatus and test equipment
  • Liaising with the Contractors, Clients, other professionals, visitors, and members of the public
  • Review and develop site specific switching templates for generic isolations
  • Develop, Coordinate and/or approve complex switching programs
  • Corrective issues reviewed and communicated and coordinated in a timely manner

HV Compliance Management

  • Assist with delivering the Scope of Work according to the contract
  • Maintain high level of record keeping, ensuring smooth and complaint HV operations, including but not limited to switching co-ordination
  • Ensure staff and entity compliance to training, both qualification and competency, consulting with the national training coordinator
  • Identifying billable and non-billable services within ENcome contracts

Substation Annual Outage Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate annual substation maintenance
  • Review scope of work to be performed externally and internally
  • Manage the outages on site, review work scope deliverables to meet ENcome and client needs
  • Develop work scopes, assist, and train internal personnel to deliver maintenance

Generator Compliance Management

  • Review and support delivery of Generator Compliance Plan
  • Assist with collection and management of PQM data
  • Annual analysis review of each site PQM data
  • Disturbance analysis review of PQM data

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification or trade qualification with equivalent experience
  • High Voltage Switching Competency
  • CPR & Low Voltage Rescue
  • Valid driver’s license

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years’ HV electrical experience in large scale C&I, utility sector (renewable energy preferred – Substation/Solar/Storage experience is preferred)
  • Experience working with network authorities across states and territories
  • SCADA experience
  • Experience developing procedural and other complex and detailed documentation

Skills

  • Ability to work from complex verbal and written instructions depending on changing situations
  • Ability to read and understand complex utility contract instructions, electrical diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Ability to respond to and diagnose plant issues/faults
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft office and cloud-based computing programs
  • Use SCADA to review alarms and performance of plant
  • Ability to work with site technicians, contractors, and trades assistants (TA)
  • Ability to make us of IT equipment (software and hardware) to connect to solar farm components
  • Ability to use software tools and methodologies to analyse plant performance to support root cause analysis
